William Daniell conducted his tour of the entire coast of Great Britain between the years 1814 - 1825. His description of what he found in the far North-West of Scotland is of particular interest as he was portraying a part of the Country that had rarely been visited or recorded. I know, for example, of no images of any sort of Ben Loyal, Smoo Cave, Kylesku, or Whiten Head before his aquatints were published. Considering the magnificence of the scenery of the North-West, it is a sure sign that few people, including artists, actually went there.
I have posted a page of some of the Aquatints that I possess. It is by no means a comprehensive set, but it certainly gives a flavour of what he published, and indeed, of what he found there.
