One of the most important items in my collection, relating to the far north of Scotland, is this set of photographs by Emily Tuckerman. She was from a well-known American family, and with her sister Jane, she visited her cousins, the Boltons, who were resident, or staying at the Kyle of Tongue in 1900. Luckily for posterity, Emily was a keen photographer, and she annotated each photo thoroughly on the back, leaving a valuable record of a region that had rarely been photographed up to that time.
