Thomas Birrell, Entrepreneur of the Diorama & Coventry Bicycle.
The image of Romantic Scotland was exploited throughout the Victorian era in a number of ways. I have both a cabinet photograph of Thomas Birrell and his wife, and also a Descriptive Guide to the Royal Diorama of Scotland, both of which are scarce, and sent me off in search of more information about the man and his entertainment.
