I have had a busy week compiling an index for The Immeasurable Wilds. There is talk of a second edition, and if this happens, I hope it can be added to the text, as I think the book would benefit from the addition.
Each week simplesite (who manage this website) tell me how many visits there have been to my pages. For the past two weeks, the number of visits has been in excess of 3,000, which is flattering for me, and suggests that at least some of what I am pursuing is of interest. Many thanks to you all for your interest in what I have to say, and I will continue to add pages for as long as I think I have something to say. I am always adding to my collection, and this week, I will show you some interesting photos of the far north that I recently obtained.
The image at the top of this page is a well-known view of Suilven, a sight one comes upon on the A837 after passing through Strath Oykel. This is the road that the Parliamentary Commission failed to complete as part of their Highland road-building project. However, the county took over responsibility for completing it, the work being supervised by Joseph Mitchell between 1823 - 1827. I took the photo on our visit to the far north last month.
